About Us
The Next Village is an internet radio series, produced in Belfast, Northern Ireland...
The Aim
to provide an introduction to, and analysis of, issues of importance to our global neighbours, as well as highlighting the ways in which these issues affect us here too.
The Series
Throughout the series we will explore some of the themes related to the Millennium Development Goals in the run up to 2015.
Collaboration
The Next Village is an initiative of Beyond Skin, in collaboration with the Centre for Global Education (CGE), both organisations based in Northern Ireland. The series will be streamed on Homely Planet and made available for download here and on the Centre for Global Education website.
Beyond Skin
- A peacebuilding organisation using arts, music & media to assist cultural relations aiming to address racism and sectarian. Our global education focus forms part of Beyond Skin's overall strategy to link global issues to local race relations to give people access to more cultural education and information, providing a better understanding of different cultures than will quench fears and stereotypes that can lead to conflict.
Centre for Global Education (CGE)
- A non-governmental development organisation based in Belfast which aims to raise awareness about global issues and encourage action toward social change.
- We organise events, deliver training, produce publications and provide a wide range of resources to target groups in the formal and non-formal education sectors.
