Our Deadline...2015!
The MDGs are a set of eight targets adopted by the United Nations in an effort to overcome some of the world's main development challenges by 2015.
The 8 targets:
- Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- Achieve universal primary education
- Promote gender equality and empower women
- Reduce child mortality
- Improve maternal health
- Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
- Ensure environmental sustainability
- Develop a Global Partnership for Development
While there has been progress towards some of the goals, there remains much work to be done. As the deadline draws near, The Next Village will be asking...
